Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, who was injured in a car accident last week, left a Warsaw military hospital on Friday.

During a brief press conference held outside the Military Institute of Medicine in Warsaw, Szydlo said that after seven days in hospital, she was happy to meet the media again.

"I thank all those who saved us, who have helped us and looked after us, the medical and rescue services and the police," Szydlo said.

She said that she would rest for a couple of days, and after that she will return to normal duties and will chair a regular government meeting, slated for next Tuesday.
