Namibia gets 3.8 mln USD drought assistance support from USAID

The U.S. government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will purchase eight water tanker trucks and promote community and school sanitation in Namibia valued at 1.6 million U.S. dollars.
Ralph Höfelein, Outreach and Communications Officer on Friday said additionally, USAID will roll out 2.2 million U.S. dollars in drought assistance activities to help malnourished HIV patients, pregnant and lactating women, orphans, and vulnerable children in food-insecure districts in Namibia with a high HIV burden.
Höfelein said USAID in collaboration with the health ministry will support the training of health extension workers to identify and refer HIV-positive individuals and vulnerable children that are malnourished. Endit
