The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has expressed satisfaction that ministries have started working in line with his vision to deliver effective services to the people. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is reportedly considering to cut off some services it is offering to Zambians living in border towns of Kipushi and Mushindano following Zambia's decision to ban the export of maize and other maize products.

Mushindano District Commissioner Benson Ngambo said the DRC government was planning to cut off services they offer to Zambians such as water, electricity and health in border areas in retaliation for the maize ban. (Daily Nation)

-- Police in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, raided the home of a former editor of the country's leading private newspaper, the Post, following the issuance of a warrant of arrest against him and one of his lawyers.

The police however did not find Fred M'membe and a manhunt has since been launched, while his wife was arrested after she tore the warrant of arrest against her husband.

The court issued a warrant of arrest against M'membe and his lawyer in connection with the Post Newspaper which is now in liquidation. (Times of Zambia) Endit
