Four die in house fire in Russia

Xinhua, February 16, 2017 Adjust font size:

Four people have died in a fire at a private house in Ulan-Ude, the capital city of the Republic of Buryatia, authorities said Thursday.

The fire, which broke out on Wednesday night, left two adults and two children dead. The owner of the house managed to escape, said the Emergency Ministry of the republic.

"The house with outbuilding was on fire when firefighters arrived at the place," the ministry said in a statement. "The escaped owner said that his relatives were in the house with four people, including two children."

"The bodies of a man, a woman and two children born in 2009 and 2012 respectively were found," the statement added.

Experts suggested that the fire could have started by electrical short circuit. Endi
