At least two people were killed and 18 others including four judges were injured when a suicide blast hit a government vehicle carrying judges in Pakistan's northwest Peshawar city on Wednesday afternoon, local media and officials said.
Senior Superintendent Police Tahir Khan confirmed the blast saying that the suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into the vehicle carrying five civil judges in Hayyatabad area of Peshawar, the capital city of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He said that the judges were on their way home from judicial complex when their vehicle was targeted.
Khan said the victims included the van driver while a male and three female judges were among the injured people.
He added that the bomber was carrying an estimated 15 kg of explosives in his jacket, and his body parts have been sent to lab for tests.
The injured people have been shifted to Hayyatabad medical complex where a state of emergency has been declared.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police cordoned off the area for investigations. Endit
