1 dead, another injured in shooting incident at waste plant northeast of Tokyo

A shooting incident at a waste collecting company in Ibaraki Prefecture northeast of Tokyo on Wednesday has left one man dead and another seriously wounded, according to local media and police reports.
An emergency call was made to the police following an incident at 7:40 a.m.local time (2220 GMT Tuesday), with the caller saying that two employees of the company had been shot by another employee.
The waste collecting company is located in the city of Kamisu in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Local reports said one of the victims, a 49-year-old man, died at the scene an hour after the shooting was reported and another male employee aged 28 was seriously wounded.
The shooter, who has been identified as Yoshihiro Tomita, 65, left the scene in a vehicle, but was found around 4 kilometers from the company with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Local police said Tomita is believed to have committed suicide. The handgun was found close to the vehicle's driver's seat.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing in an around the waste collecting company, which is located 6 km from the Kamisu city government, although police have yet to disclose a motive for the shooting or the name of one of the men who was injured at the company. Endit
