Boca Juniors teammates apologize after training ground fight

Xinhua, February 15, 2017 Adjust font size:

Boca Juniors teammates Juan Insaurralde and Jonathan Silva issued a public apology on Tuesday after a training ground fight.

The pair had to be separated by other Boca players after coming to blows during a practice match on Monday.

"I want to say sorry to Jony (Silva), my teammates, the coaching staff and the fans," Insaurralde told a news conference.

"What I did wasn't right. Things boiled over during a five-minute period. There is a good feeling in the team and this came out of nowhere. I can promise that it won't happen again."

Silva, sitting beside Insaurralde, said: "It was something that happened in the heat of the moment. It won't go any further than that. We can laugh about it now. Everything is great within the team. I want to say sorry to everyone."

Boca are currently lead the Argentina Primera Division standings, three points ahead of second-placed Newell's Old Boys. Endit
