The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Zambian government has signed an agreement with Britain's Department for International Development (DFID) to accelerate the expansion of household solar market in the southern African nation.

The Energy Africa Partnership Agreement commits both parties to work together to harness the opportunity to increase access to electricity for all Zambians and to help Zambia tackle the energy crisis. (Zambia Daily Mail)

--Authorities in Lusaka, the Zambian capital, have arrested seven people for selling medicines without a license.

The seven were arrested after an operation by the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) together with other agencies in various part of city following an increase in the number of people selling medicines without licenses. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government should seriously consider investing in the manufacture of drugs because imported medical drugs were too expensive for ordinary citizens.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia said 80 percent of medical drugs sold in Zambia were imported from India, adding that it was not good for the country to be fully dependent on other countries for medication. (Daily Nation) Endit
