Google Maps rolls out new function to share favorite locations

Xinhua, February 14, 2017 Adjust font size:

Google Maps is adding a new feature to its application, allowing users to create lists of favorite locations and share them with others.

For example, if you are interested in a BBQ spot, tapping it on the Maps and then "save" it to one of your pre-set or newly created lists like "Want to Go" or "Favorites," then the places you have saved will appear on the Maps whenever you are near by.

The most compelling part of the new feature is that your saved lists are able to be shared and followed. Your friends are able to see your favorite locations on their Maps via the transfer of text, email, social networks and popular massaging apps.

This new function of Google Maps reinforced observers' assumption that the app is extending its touch from just a search tool to a social network. Endi
