Police capture 336 for theft, deception during festival travel peak

China's railway police said Monday that they had captured a total of 336 persons suspected of theft, robbery and deception during the Spring Festival travel peak.

The railway police said they had recovered over 2.5 million yuan (375,200 U.S. dollars) for passengers in 401 cases.

Across the country, railway police launched special campaigns against theft, robbery and deception during the travel peak, strengthening patrols and strictly monitoring key suspects.

The Spring Festival travel peak this year started Jan. 13 and will end Feb. 21. China Railway Corporation estimated that more than 200 million rail trips would be made during the period. Endi
