Beijing, Bayi lead 1-0 in WCBA semifinals

Both Beijing and Bayi led the best-of-five series by 1-0 in the semifinals of Women Chinese Basketball Association league (WCBA) on Saturday.

Beijing beat Xinjiang 89-76 with Sylvia Fowles' game-high 30 points. Beijing's forward Gao Song added 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Last season runners-up Xinjiang's Johnson got a team-high 20 points and 9 rebounds.

Beijing enjoyed a flying start of the game. Xinjiang tried hard in the final quarter by 29-19 but that was not enough to turn the table.

Bayi made an easy 91-78 win over Shenbu at home. Bayi center Sun Mengran dominated the paint on both ends of the court. She got 24 points and 12 rebounds. Shenbu's power forward Liu Shuai also had a great game tonight with game-high 26 points. Endit
