Man suspected of terror acts arrested in British airport

A man suspected of preparing terrorist acts has been arrested at the Gatwick Airport, according to a statement released Friday by the Metropolitan Police.

The 44-year-old man was stopped by officers from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command upon his arrival on Thursday at the airport, which is located over 47 km south of Central London.

The man took a flight from Iraq, and he is from Britain's Hertfordshire.

After being questioned by the police in the airport, the suspect was arrested and taken to a central London police station where he remains in custody, according to the statement. Endit
