1st LD: French police arrest four people suspected of planning terrorist assault: report

Xinhua, February 10, 2017 Adjust font size:

French police on Friday detained three men and a woman suspected of preparing "violent act," local news channel BFMTV reported.

According to the report, the four suspects were arrested in the southern town of Montpellier on charges of planning an imminent attack.

One of the suspects was believed to plan for a suicide bombing assault against targets which were not identified yet.

During the raid, the police found TATP explosives and other bomb-making materials in the home of one of the suspects.

The four suspects, including a 16-year-old girl, will remain in custody for 96 hours, the report added.

Risks of terrorist attacks remain high in France where a "state of emergency" has been declared after a group of terrorists killed 130 people in a series of explosions and shootings on Nov.13, 2015. Endi
