Xinhua, February 8, 2017 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks were mixed Wednesday morning as Wall Street's strong lead from overnight gains wore off and a firmer yen versus the U.S. dollar impacted exporter-linked issues.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 35.21 points, or 0.19 percent, from Tuesday to 18,875.57.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange meanwhile edged down 1.69 points, or 0.11 percent, to 1,514.46.

Issues that were among the morning's notable decliners comprised oil and coal, mining, and fishery, agriculture and forestry-linked stocks. Endit
