Hainan quarantine authorities seize 20kg of smuggled human hair

Xinhua, February 7, 2017 Adjust font size:

Around 20 kilograms of human hair were seized by quarantine officers in Sanya City, a tourist resort in the southern island province of Hainan, local authorities said Tuesday.

According to Hainan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the hair was found in luggage belonging to an incoming passenger on flight HU454.

The passenger failed to provide relevant quarantine certificate for the hair, the bureau said.

Unprocessed human hair may carry parasites, fungus and bacteria, posing risks to people's health. In China, human hair that has not been properly processed is prohibited from entering the country. Endi
