Vietnam to host AFC U-23 Championship qualification

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided that Vietnam will host one group of the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualification from June 15 to 23, the Vietnam Football Federation said Tuesday.

A total of 42 teams divided into nine groups will compete during the qualification stage to fight for entry into the Championship, to be held in China early next year.

The qualification matches will take place in Vietnam, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

Only 16 teams can enter into the final stage, with China having already qualified automatically as hosts. Enditem
