Xinhua, February 6, 2017 Adjust font size:

Lao Toyota FC, a runner-up of Lao Premier League 2016, will play Boeungket Angkor from Cambodia in the qualifying round of the AFC Cup 2017 in Lao capital Vientiane on Tuesday.

The match at the National Stadium in Vientiane is the second leg of the playoff after Lao Toyota FC drew 1-1 with Boeungket Angkor in Cambodia on Jan. 31.

"For the upcoming game, we will be the home team and hope to do better," said Lao Toyota Assistant Coach Sirisantiphab Phokhasomboun at a press conference held in Vientiane on Monday.

"Playing outside of the country is more difficult for us and the Boeungket Angkor team played great defense. For this game, we only need prevent the opposing team from winning and we will move on to the next round," said the Lao Toyota player Renshi Yamaguchi, adding that they would do their best for the Lao fans.

Meanwhile, coach of Boeungket Angkor John Mc Glynn told reporters that "At the previous match in Cambodia, our team was at a disadvantage because we were missing two of our key players. It did however give our newer team members the opportunity to step up."

"We are hoping for a big win at Tuesday's match to move on to the next level of the AFC Cup 2017," added Mc Glynn. Endit
