Singapore stocks close 0.49 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 14.97 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 3,056.91.

A total of 2.67 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.24 billion Singapore dollars (881.6 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 278 to 147, while 652 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 2.14 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 3,041.94 on Feb. 3. Enditem
