The following are news in major Kenyan media outlets on Sunday.

-- Kenya Defence Forces soldiers who survived an attack in Somalia where 21 of their colleagues were killed dismissed claims their camp was over-run by Al-Shabaab. The soldiers said they had intelligence of the attack and fought the militants who numbered about 1,000 from the start, killing some 200 of them. The soldiers further disputed claims that close to 60 Kenya armymen were killed. (Sunday Nation)

-- Electoral commission chairman expressed fears over constrained timelines ahead of August polls. The agency that is currently purchasing election equipment said some of them will be delayed. (Sunday Standard)
