Macedonia's exports record 6.8 pct annual rise in 2016

The total value of exported goods from Macedonia in 2016 amounted to 4.78 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 6.8 percent compared with the previous year, data published by the State Statistical Office showed Friday.
On the other hand, statistics confirmed that the total value of Macedonia's imports in the same period reached 6.75 billion U.S. dollars, registering an annual growth of 5.7 percent.
Thus, Macedonia's trade deficit for the period amounted to 1.97 billion U.S. dollars.
Macedonia's most important trade partners last year were Germany, Britain, Serbia, Greece, and Italy, data showed.
According to the state statistical office, in the group of exports, the most significant products were precious metals or precious metal compounds, ignition wiring sets, and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel, and clothes.
In terms of imports, the main products were platinum and platinum alloys, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, other metals of the platinum group, and electricity. Endit
