Xinhua, February 3, 2017 Adjust font size:

Vietnam has set a goal of advancing to the football final at the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games slated for August in Malaysia, the Vietnam Football Federation announced on Friday.

To prepare for the coming SEA Games, Vietnam's U-22 football squad convened in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday, and will play their first friendly match against Malaysia on Feb. 7.

In addition, the federation has signed a contract with German health expert Sebastian Mathias Schoch with experience in injury treatment. Schoch is scheduled to fly to Vietnam early next month to assist Vietnamese head coach Nguyen Huu Thang with the country's U-23 and U-20 teams during duties at home and abroad.

Vietnam's U-20 squad will take part in the U-20 FIFA World Cup slated for May in South Korea. Endit
