-- German lawmakers have pledged to continue allocating more money towards mitigating effects of deforestation and supporting the agriculture sector in Zambia.

The lawmakers, who are members of a budget committee for that country's Ministry of Agriculture and on a visit to Zambia to tour Germany-funded projects, said they will support any initiatives Zambia will come up to boost the agriculture sector. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Finish government said Zambia has massive potential to generate electricity from renewable sources to alleviate deficiencies in the energy sector.

Finish Ambassador to Zambia Timo Olkonen said creating a suitable energy mix that would provide reliable base-load power for the country was an important part of the Zambia's energy strategy. (Times of Zambia)

-- The United Nations (UN) has praised Zambia's commitment in addressing the problem of early marriages.
