Policeman shot dead in Bahrain "terrorist" act

Xinhua, January 29, 2017 Adjust font size:

Bahrain said on Sunday that an off-duty police officer was shot dead in a "terrorist act."

"Initial details indicate that it was a terrorist act," the Interior Ministry said in a statement, referring to the attack in Bilad Al Qadem village.

The statement did not say when the attack took place.

Saraya Al Ashtar, a terror organization, claimed responsibility for the attack in an online statement.

This was the second police officer to die this year. The previous one was killed in a jailbreak on Jan. 1, when 10 convicted terrorists escaped from the main prison facility in Jaw. Endit
