Zambia has repatriated 147 Ethiopian illegal immigrants who were facing jail sentences for illegal entry, the country's immigration authorities said Friday.

The Ethiopians were repatriated back to their country on Thursday afternoon after they were pardoned by Zambian President Edgar Lungu in December last year. (Zambia-Immigrants)

MOGADISHU -- The Somalia-based militant group Al-Shabaab has taken control of a military camp manned by Kenyan soldiers who are part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) following heavy fighting early Friday.

Residents in the remote town of Kulbiyow said many casualties are feared after heavy explosions and gunfire broke out between the military and the insurgents. (Somalia-Al-Shabaab)

RABAT -- Morocco's interior ministry announced on Friday that security forces have foiled an Islamic State's (IS) terror attack during a large scale anti-terrorism operation.

The operation led to the bust of the seven-member cell in five cities, namely El Jadida, Settat, Sale, Meknes and Taza, the ministry said in a statement. (Morocco-IS)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Death toll of Indian troopers in avalanches that hit them near the Line of Control (LoC), dividing Kashmir, has rose to 14 as rescuers Friday pulled four more bodies from the piles of snow, officials said.

The avalanches struck Wednesday night at two locations in the frontier Tulail of Gurez area in Bandipora district, 165 km north of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (Indian-controlled Kashmir-Avalanche) Endi
