Armenia eyes development of renewable energy

Energy Week 2017 convention kicked off in Armenia on Wednesday aiming to showcase recent developments in renewable energy, investment opportunities, long-term projects and engineering solutions in the sector, Armenpress News Agency reported.
According to Deputy Minister of Energy of Armenia, Hayk Harutyunyan, more than 30 international organizations will be taking part in a series of events of Energy Week 2017.
"We will also be showcasing our plans to build the first solar power plant in the country in the Region of Gegharkunik with a capacity of a 55 MW and will announce the details of the tender," said the deputy minister.
The events also include an exhibition where about 28 companies will display their services related to thermal insulation, efficient heating systems and solar technologies.
Among participants of the convention are investors from France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States. Endit
