Dortmund sign Swedish striker talent Isak

Xinhua, January 24, 2017 Adjust font size:

Borussia Dortmund have complete the transfer of Alexander Isak from AIK Solna, the eight-time German champions confirmed in an official statement on Monday.

The 17-year-old striker talent has put pen to paper on an undisclosed long-term contract, as the FIFA needs to confirm the deal due to Isak's young age.

"Alexander Isak is a high-calibre striker talent, who has been courted by many European top clubs," Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said. "We are very glad that he has opted for Borussia Dortmund," he added.

Dortmund's new arrival is Sweden's youngest ever goal scorer. Alexander Isak, who received the jersey number 14 at his new club, made his debut for AIK Solna with 16 years and provided 13 goals in 29 appearances ever since.

His performances earned him a spot in Sweden's national team where he scored a goal against Slovakia to become the youngest goal scorer by breaking the 104-year-old record from Erik Dahlstroem.

Borussia Dortmund sit currently on the 4th place of the Bundesliga standings. They encounter Mainz on Sunday to conclude the 18th round. Endit
