Security vehicle hit by bomb in SW Pakistan, 6 troopers injured

Xinhua, January 23, 2017 Adjust font size:

At least six security personnel were injured after a bomb went off near their vehicle in Pakistan's southwest Tank district on Monday, local Urdu media reported.

The vehicle carrying paramilitary troops Frontier Corps (FC) was on its routine patrolling and was hit by an improvised explosive device in Molazai Mor area of Tank, a district located in the country's southwest Balochistan Province, the Dawn News said.

Police said that the explosive materials were fixed on the roadside. The injured FC personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital where one of them is said to be in critical condition.

Security forces cordoned off the area for investigations.

No group has claimed the attack yet, but separatist groups in the province were found involved in such attacks on security personnel in the past.

Earlier last week, security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a hideout of a separatist group in Pishin area of the province. Endit
