Bank deposits in Macedonia up 5.7 pct

Bank deposits in Macedonia registered an annual growth rate of 5.7 percent in December 2016, official data have revealed.

On a monthly basis, deposits rose 4 percent from the previous month, local media reported on Sunday, citing data from the National Bank of Macedonia.

The monthly growth registered in December 2016 was the highest recorded since December 2007.

The increase was mostly driven by the growth of deposits of the corporate sector.

Total deposits of the corporate sector in December registered 9.3 percent on a monthly basis while annually they increased by 13.4 percent. Endit
