A powerful 8.0-magnitude earthquake hit off Papua New Guinea, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Sunday.

The quake, which occurred at 0430 GMT, was centered 36 km northwest of Arawa, Papua New Guinea, at a depth of 167.5 km, the USGS said. Enditem
