Indonesia will host an international motorcross championship in Bangka Belitung province in March, a minister said here on Wednesday.

Indonesian Youth and Sport Minister Imam Nahrawi disclosed that the Motorcross Grand Prix or MXGP 2017 will take place in Pangkal Pinang city of the province from March 4-5.

"This is an extraordinary trust given to Indonesia. This will be a facility for us to promote tourism," Nahrawi said.

The minister revealed that the championship has been officially included into a calendar of FIM (federation international de motorcyclisme).

Ten Indonesia's best crossers and two women crossers will vie with the international crossers at the event, said Nahrawi. Endit
