Indonesia pledges to boost prevention from foreign aircraft intrusion

Indonesia's air force will tighten supervision on the country's territory and prevent the intruding of foreign planes, the country's new air force chief said here on Wednesday.

Air Force Chief Air Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto said that the air force would install more radars across the archipelago country.

"Currently the air force only has 20 radars. There will be an addition of 12 radars, so that the total will be 32," he said after his installment as new air force chief at the State Palace.

Tjahjanto said that the devices would be placed in western, central and eastern parts of the country.

With the addition, he expected that foreign plane's intrusion could be declined to zero.

"We target there will be no more Indonesia's territory which could not be monitored. So, should a foreign plane intrude our territory, it will be immediately found out," Tjahjanto said.

Indonesia's air force has frequently intercepted foreign planes illegally passing the country's territory. Endit
