Singapore stocks close 0.42 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 12.55 points, or 0.42 percent, to close at 3,000.22.

A total of 1.57 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.06 billion Singapore dollars (605.56 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 241 to 197, while 659 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 0.35 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 3,012.77 on Tuesday. Endit
