Xinhua, January 18, 2017 Adjust font size:

Macedonia has been planning to invest at least 150 million U.S. dollars in the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of the water management infrastructure across the country, Macedonia's deputy agriculture minister Vanco Kostadinovski told reporters Tuesday.

According to him, this significant amount of money will be invested under a water management investment program covering the period between 2017 and 2020.

The deputy minister told in a press conference that three capital water management projects, with a total value of around 96 million U.S. dollars, were set to be implemented in this period.

He added that contracts for the projects, which are planned to be wrapped up in 2019, were signed at the end of 2016.

The three capital investments include the construction of a dam, the construction of a dam on Orizari River and the construction of a hydro system, media here reported.

Such investments will pave the way for further development of agriculture here, the deputy minister said. Endit
