Nigeria's Lagos authority confirms fake bomb scare

Xinhua, January 18, 2017 Adjust font size:

The state government of Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, has sought to allay the fears of residents on a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The IED was allegedly dropped in a manhole in a street in Agege area of the state on Monday.

In a statement made available to Xinhua on Tuesday, police chief in charge of the state Fatai Owoseni said there was no cause for alarm.

He urged the people to go about their normal businesses.

He said security agencies responded swiftly to the development and found out that the substance was just pieces of thrash dropped in the manhole. Endit
