China to guard elderly against telecom fraud

Xinhua, January 17, 2017 Adjust font size:

A public education campaign will guard the elderly against telecom and Internet fraud, China National Committee on Aging said on Tuesday.

These kinds of fraud have become increasingly widespread, jeopardizing senior citizens' property, and threatening their sense of security and social stability, according to a statement issued by the Committee.

The campaign, lasting till the end of May, will inform the elderly on the means of fraud that are frequently employed by swindlers, methods of detecting fraud, and measures should be taken to recover or reduce losses after the fact. Endi
