-- Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Monday left for Davos, Switzerland, to attend the 47th World Economic Forum that will take place on January 17-20, 2017.

The forum under the theme "Responsive Leadership" will be attended by over 2,500 leaders of countries, businesses, international organizations and civil societies as well as scholars, it was learned. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

-- Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister Workneh Gebeyehu received UN Secretary General Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Mr. Nicholas Haysom in his office on Monday.

-- Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF) serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on Sunday donated an assortment of foodstuff to vulnerable households in Gobwein village, Lower Jubba region.

The team from AMISOM ENDF led by their contingent commander in Kismaayo, Colonel Regassa Tesfaye and logistics officer Lt. Colonel Tilahun Abraha, visited and distributed the relief supplies in the village, which is 12 kilometres north of Kismaayo. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

-- The World Bank has granted 24 million-U.S. dollars support for Addis Ababa and Haremaya universities to help them establish centers of excellence.
