Xinhua, January 17, 2017 Adjust font size:

Sixteen people have been arrested in Lyuliang City in north China's Shanxi Province on drug trafficking offences, local police announced on Tuesday.

Police in Liulin County received a tip-off in August 2016 of online acetone purchases. Acetone is used in the methamphetamine making process.

Investigation showed a gang transporting drugs from south China's Guangdong Province to Shandong and Shanxi provinces to sell.

On Dec. 10, 2016, three suspects were caught in possession in Henan Province and 24.3 kilograms of methamphetamine was seized. The other members of the gang were caught within a month.

The investigation continues. Endi
