Australian dollar remains flat

Xinhua, January 16, 2017 Adjust font size:

The Australian dollar has held flat over the weekend with no major political or economic events to shake things up.

At the Asian market open, the local currency was trading at 74.87 U.S cents on Monday, slightly up from 74.82 U.S. cents on Friday.

Despite the lack of movement in the Aussie dollar, encouraging earnings data coming out of the U.S. last week appears positive for the local unit.

At 09:08 local time (AEDT) the Australian dollar was trading at 74.88 U.S. cents. Endit
