Singapore stocks close 0.26 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 7.94 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 2,993.00.

A total of 1.73 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.23 billion Singapore dollars (850 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 233 to 215, while 642 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 5.08 points, or 0.17 percent, to close at 3,000.94 on Wednesday. Endit
