The launching ceremony of the Belt and Road Initiative website was held at the Renmin University of China in Beijing on January 9th 2017.

The cooperation contract was signed by vice president of China.org.cn Li Fugen, the president of Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation Li Ruohong, the dean of the School of Finance as well as the executive director and president of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China Guo Qingwang.

The Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China’s President Xi Jinping in 2013 was warmly welcomed and greatly supported by over 100 countries and international organizations. It marked significant progress in terms of the operation of the Silk Road Fund, the construction of high-speed railways, the development of trade and communication on policies, as well as the deepening of cultural and educational exchanges.

In response to the Belt and Road Initiative, china.org.cn designed the Belt and Road Initiative website (ydyl.china.com.cn), thus taking advantage of the Internet and new media as transmission tools as well as think tanks for their suggestions and support in order to panoramically display the development of the Belt and Road Initiative in China and around the world.

After reaching a consensus, representatives from china.org.cn, the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China reached the aforementioned strategic cooperation agreement. Together, the three parties will set up the Belt and Road Initiative data base, cooperate on the new china.org.cn Belt and Road Initiative online platform, support think tanks, as well as hold related activities abroad.

The china.org.cn Belt and Road Initiative website has over 20 columns which include topics such as policy, trade and finance, think tanks, transportation projects, the Silk Road Fund, cultural communication, etc. Among many other aspects, it strives to provide the latest news, project updates, think tank analysis, investment information, tourism information related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
