Former Qatari Emir visits Algeria

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika met Sunday with visiting former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, the National Radio reported.

The meeting was also attended by Abdelkader Bensalah, the speaker of the upper house of parliament, and Abdelkader Messahel, the minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League.

No official statement on the purpose of the visit is yet available.

Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani ruled Qatar from 1995 to 2013. His fourth son Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani succeeded him in June 2013. Endit
