Fierce gunfire heard near military barracks in Abidjan

Fierce gunfire was heard in the middle of the day on Saturday near the Akouedo barracks in the east of Cote d'Ivoire's commercial capital Abidjan, according to witnesses.

The Akouedo camp is home to elite parachutes commando who are considered loyal to the Ivorian president Alassane Ouattara.

Currently, there is no information on the number of victims. Meanwhile, the soldiers went out of their camp to block traffic in the direction of Bingerville, according to witnesses. Endit
