Tallinn airport records 2.2 mln passengers in 2016

Xinhua, January 5, 2017 Adjust font size:

More than 2.2 million passengers visited Tallinn Airport in 2016, a 2.5-percent increase from 2015, the airport said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, passenger numbers in December were 19 percent higher than in December 2015.

The passenger number is expected to rise by at least 5 percent in 2017, due to the preparation for Estonia's EU presidency in the second half of the year, as well as added connections to London and Hamburg, said the airport's marketing director Eero Pargmae.

In 2016, the number of seats on regular flights grew by 4 percent compared to the previous year.

Tallinn airport offered regular flights to 23 destinations throughout last year, which increased to 34 in the summer, with the most popular destinations being Frankfurt, Helsinki and Riga. Endit
