Singapore stocks close 1.12 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 32.83 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 2,954.14.

A total of 2.05 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.27 billion Singapore dollars (886.3 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 301 to 165, while 620 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 22.34 points, or 0.77 percent, to close at 2,921.31 on Wednesday. Enditem
