Morocco's coach announces 23-man squad for 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

Morocco's coach Herve Renard on announced Wednesday the final 23-man squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which runs from January 14 to February 5.

Renard received a bad news when Ligue 1 leaders Nice's star Younes Belhanda broke his toe last month.

Old names were included into the squad, like Juventus's Mehdi Benatia, Watfor's Noureddine Amrabat and Southampton's Soufiane Boufal.

Striker Aziz Bouhaddouz who plays for German second division club St Pauli, comes in as a late replacement to Belhanda.

Morocco will play a friendly match against Finland on Monday in Al Ain of United Arab Emirates.

Morocco, who won the African championship in 1976, play in Group C at the finals in Gabon, starting against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Oyem on Jan. 16. Endit
