Singapore stocks close 0.77 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 22.34 points, or 0.77 percent, to close at 2,921.31.

A total of 2.25 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 967.1 million Singapore dollars (668.9 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 280 to 151, while 654 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 18.21 points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 2,898.97 Tuesday. Enditem
