Dollar changes hands in upper 117 yen zone in early Tokyo trading

The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 117 yen zone early Wednesday morning in Tokyo.

At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 117.68-69 compared with 117.69-79 yen in New York at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The euro fetched 1.0417-0418 dollars and 122.59-60 yen against 1.0401-0411 dollars and 122.48-58 yen in New York late Tuesday afternoon.

Japanese financial markets were closed Monday and Tuesday for New Year holidays. Endit
