India Sunday said that two of its nationals were among 39 people killed in the Istanbul nightclub terror attack.

"I have a bad news from Turkey. We have lost two Indian nationals in the Istanbul attack. Indian Ambassador is on way to Istanbul," Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted.(India-Istanbul-Attack)

HELSINKI -- An automobile ran seemingly without control over pedestrians in Helsinki on Saturday.

SARIPUL -- At least seven militants have been killed and 13 others injured as clash flared up in parts of Afghanistan's Saripul province, 350 km north of Kabul on Sunday, provincial governor Mohammad Zahir Wahdat said.

In talks with reporters here, the official added that five rebels had been killed and eight others injured after the clash erupted in Sangcharak district which lasted for 12 hours, forcing militants to flee. (Afghanistan-Fighting)

BAGHDAD -- Up to seven people were killed and 15 injured on Sunday when suicide bombers attacked a town near the holy Shiite city of Najaf in central Iraq, sources said.

The attack occurred shortly after 7:00 am (0400 GMT) when a vehicle carrying five armed man in military uniforms and wearing explosive vests attacked a checkpoint at the entrance of the town of al-Qadsiyah, some 70 km southwest of Najaf, a local security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. BUJUMBURA -- Three persons including two watchmen and a woman have been arrested in connection with the killing, early Sunday, of Burundian Environment Minister Emmanuel Niyonkuru in the Burundian capital Bujumbura, the police spokesman said.

"Police have arrested three persons including two watchmen and a woman in connection with the assassination of the minister for water, environment and territory planning in front of his house in Rohero," said Burundian Police Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye. (Burundi-Shooting) Endi
