Algeria on Friday hailed the cease-fire agreement announced in Syria between the regime forces and the opposition militias, saying that the warrant parties have to work together to reach negotiable solution to the almost six years long civil war.

Algeria "calls on all the parties to respect it ahead of paving the way for peace talks and ultimately reach sustainable political solution which takes into account the interest of the brotherly Syrian people," the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, said, quoted by APS news agency.

The diplomat reaffirmed Algeria's position for a peaceful political settlement in Syria.
