Uganda heads to training camp in Tunisia ahead of AFCON

Uganda's national football team, Cranes, on Friday left for a training camp in Tunisia ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament scheduled in Gabon next month.

The Cranes who qualified for AFCON after 39 years of waiting will face hosts on Jan. 4 in an international friendly.

Coach Milutin Sredojevic said the team will later head to United Arab Emirates where it will have several warmup games before heading to Gabon.

Veteran striker Geoffrey Massa together with first choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango who is nominated for the African Player of the Year will lead Uganda, which is grouped alongside with Ghana, Egypt and Mali. Endit
